IL-1处于免疫反应的上游，能刺激多种炎症细胞因子和多种效应分子的产生，引起神经细胞凋亡和毒性、关节疼痛和损伤、肝细胞凋亡、急性胰腺炎等与炎症相关疾病。
因此，抑制炎症 Caspase 对治疗炎症相关疾病有重要意义。
